Security System Down

The security system at The Retriever Weekly offices is down, most likely due to the construction happening on the first floor of the University Center. The security department at UMBC has been notified and is working on a fix as we speak. In the meantime, you will be unable to use the alarm panels in the office. This means when you leave, do NOT leave valuables in the office and MAKE SURE ALL DOORS ARE LOCKED.

UMBC Servers Temporary Outage

UMBC's servers are experiencing a temporary outage.  Since we use UMBC's outgoing e-mail server, sending e-mail might be delayed.  Incoming e-mail shouldn't be affected.  We'll try to keep you informed!

UPDATE: On further inspection, e-mail isn't being affected.  Everything is fine.

File Server Backups Tonight

We will be synchronizing our new secondary file server with the entire contents of our primary file server tonight, in preparation for the spring semester.  As a result of this huge transfer taking place on our network, you may notice some slowdowns on retrieverweekly.com and on the office computers.  The backup should hopefully take no more than a few hours, if that.
-------------
UPDATE: The backup is going to take a lot longer than expected, but the good news is that the site and office computers are not being affected as much as originally anticipated.  Thanks for your patience!
